Four new technologies, such as the technology to detect traffic accidents on the road using radar sensors and to inform drivers and road managers in real time and to prevent traffic accidents, have been designated as new technologies for transportation by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, and Transport.
`Real-time incident system' based on radar sensor developed (32nd Transportation New Technology) by Metabuild (CEO Cho Pung-Youn) is a system that detects road incident information from a radar sensor installed on the road. It analyzes, judges, and provides the information to the driver and the road manager. It is a technology that can improve the road management and operation efficiency by automatically detecting the unexpected situation on the road in real-time • all weather and providing collected information in real time to prevent secondary accident and alleviate road congestion. It is possible to detect an unexpected situation on the road, regardless of the day or night, and detect the location and the speed of individual vehicles, obstacles, pedestrians, etc up to 1 km and 5 lane road within 5 seconds.
By designated new technology for transportation, developers are given the benefits of obtaining a new technology certification(NET), benefits in bidding, and protection of new technologies for a certain period (usually 5 to 7 years).
