Incheon International Airport succeeded in localizing Flight Information Display System (FIDS). It has been only five years since the project started. Expected to solve the problem of high dependency on foreign SW and reducing maintenance costs. Domestic SW export is also expected to rise when overseas U airport business is carried out."
The localization project was promoted in 2011 when the Incheon International Airport Informatization Strategy Plan (ISP) was established. In the following year, they selected a SW construction company and launched it. During the course of the project, the project was suspended due to the bankruptcy of the main service provider, which was resumed in 2014. Development was completed in February of this year, and until now, the operation test was conducted at the arrival point of the passenger terminal to verify stability of the system.
Domestic SW is expected to enter the overseas market by exporting U airport system. TMAX soft products were used for FIDS database management system (DBMS), web application server (WAS) and application performance management (APM). The meta data is based on WISEITEC, the enterprise application integration (EAI) is on the METBUILD, the database security is on the Penta security, the server security is on the Secuve, and the terminal security is on the Ahnlab.
Lee Kwang-soo, head of the passenger service department at Incheon International Airport, said, "By the success of system localization, now we can provide customized multimedia flight information service with the latest technology. It is possible to generate additional profits."
Flight Information Display System (FIDS) is a system that collects information related to flight operations from inside and outside of the airport and shows flight information on the display. Provides real-time information to airport residents and airport users in passenger terminals, passenger terminals, and traffic centers."
