[FOCUS] ITS Evolution to Radar Technology

In Korea, intelligent transportation systems (ITS) are being introduced to ensure smooth vehicle movement and traffic safety. ITS is a series of processes that manage transportation systems more efficiently by utilizing cutting-edge technology. In particular, most major roads in Korea are establishing real-time road monitoring systems using CCTV as part of ITS. Metabuild Leads Radar Market With 'Smart-IDS'

Currently, Metabuild is leading the related market in the radar-based incident detection system market. Metabuild is providing Smart-IDS based on the technology accumulated by participating in the smart highway project of the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport. It has already completed the successful construction of Smart-IDS on a number of highways and bridges such as Gyeongbu Expressway and the 1st Ring Expressway in the Seoul metropolitan area. In particular, it has succeeded in supplying products to Nanjing, Chongqing in China and Taebaek in Korea based on its excellent product performance.

In particular, "Smart-IDS" was introduced in all sections of the JaeYaksan Tunnel, the second-longest in Korea, to establish a real-time operation control system for traffic safety and disaster prevention. Unlike the existing CCTV-based control system, which controls individual vehicles passing through the tunnel in units of sections according to the location of individual cameras, it was well-received for implementing a digital twin that allows you to see individual vehicles passing through the tunnel at a glance on the dashboard.

The representative feature of 'Smart-IDS' is that the detection area has been greatly expanded through the multi-wave technology. Multi-wave technology means simultaneously sending multiple radio wave transmission waveforms within one radio wave period. Although general radar-based systems use a single transmission waveform to limit the detection target and range, Metabuild expanded the detection range to up to 1km through three transmission waveforms that cover short, medium, and long distances, respectively.

Another advantage of Metabuild is that it can build a complete pipeline for control by utilizing its flagship products. Metabuild has all the product lineups and original technologies ranging from data collection through IoT sensors such as "MESIM ESB," API gateway "MESIM APIG," and IoT platform "MESIM IoT." This enables managers to efficiently perform tasks by acquiring all the information necessary for road control through a single integrated platform and dashboard.​
